UFC icon Conor McGregor has placed an insane bet for EURO 2024, staking that Cristiano Ronaldo would win a second-successive Golden Boot at this year’s European Championship.
UFC fans will be forgiven for wondering if they’ll ever see the Notorious back in the Octagon as the former Featherweight and Lightweight Champion is seemingly enjoying the good life away from the sport, starring in Hollywood blockbusters and partying with strangers during his fight-prep.
But the Irish fighter has still kept one keen eye on the competition and, known for placing insane bets across many sports, has backed one of football’s greatest-ever players to perform in what could be his final appearance at the elite European competition.
Despite reaching a significant milestone with his 40th birthday, Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly showing no signs of slowing down, thanks mainly to his enviable dedication to his peak performance.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has continued to score for fun since moving to the Saudi Pro League (as he has done throughout his career) and has linked back up with his national side for his 11th major tournament and record 6th European Championship.
