Savannah Superyacht: Cost & Ownership
Savannah was originally ordered by the late Lukas Lundin, a Swedish-Canadian billionaire. Lundin was the patriarch of the Lundin Group of Companies that owns the mining and oil industries. The yacht was believed to have cost $140 million USD and stands as the pinnacle of luxury yachting with an estimated yearly expense of $14 million USD.
Advanced Hybrid Technology Powers Savannah
With this ultra-modern technology, Savannah can do up to 17 knots, with a cruising comfortable speed of 14 knots, and an outstanding range of at least 4,500 nautical miles. The hybrid system is claimed to cut fuel consumption by 30% compared to traditional yachts of its class, setting a new standard for eco-friendly luxury sailing.
Upon boarding the Savannah, charter guests are welcomed by the incredible sight of a nine-meter pool surrounded by sun loungers. They enter the main saloon through a large glass door, where the innovative architectural design of the yacht floods the space with natural light.
Savannah‘s exterior was styled by the highly regarded CG Design studio in Paris, and it features an amazing metallic sea foam green finish. Glass walls that encircle the yacht’s decks complement its streamlined design by blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor areas.
The abundance of outdoor seating areas and entertaining spaces on this ship is evidence of its inclination towards engaging guests in outdoor living. Its signature exterior was entirely painted in 2020 as part of a gargantuan renovation that cost more than $9 million USD, among many other improvements.
Savannah’s Elegant Interiors
The interior design, also created by CG Design, is different from the traditional aesthetics of yachts. For example, straight bulkheads are swapped for curved ones so that the living area becomes more dynamic and fluid.
The polished columns, dark rosewood floors, metallic finishes, and silk curtains create a subtle sense of luxury. The circular social space on the main saloon is furnished with minimal yet well-positioned sofas to offer both comfort and space to those on board.
Further forward along the main deck, charter guests are able to encounter an additional saloon which has become known as the “sitting room.” Populated with a large sofa and four additional deep seats, this space is an attractive alternative to the main saloon.
The main deck also has a central spiral staircase, which separates the main saloon from the secondary lounge and the guest cabins. Due to its pioneered engineering, each of the decks’ areas experiences very little noise and vibration when underway or at anchor.
This yacht comprises six cabins with twelve berths. Among them are the VIP suites, including a sumptuous owner’s private deck. The owner’s exclusive area stands unsurpassed with a large skylight above the bed, dining room, saloon, office, large marble bathroom, and private terrace with helipad.
One of the most impressive features of the Savannah is the submerged underwater “Nemo” lounge, which doubles as a movie theatre with stadium-style seats and a drop-down screen, all while providing incredible views of marine life. Other features of the yacht include a gym, a spa complete with a Hammam, a DJ area, and a barbecue on the sundeck.
Award-Winning Excellence
Savannah’s innovative features and design have drawn attention from the yachting community. It was recognized as a true icon of maritime innovation in 2015 when it won the World Superyacht Awards’ coveted Motor Yacht of the Year title. The yacht has also won the Best Power award at the ISS Awards, further solidifying its status as a leading vessel in the superyacht category.
